Who needs guitars when we've got horns

Have you ever been to Club Amnesia? It's on Valencia St. in the mission. It's a great little place with sexy red lighting and a lot of soul. I can't forget to mention the great beer selection! Every night there is something going on, but my favorite night is Bextalo Drom. As you have probably guessed it- it's gypsy music themed. There is a lot of singing, live music, and dancing, but the best part of the night is when the belly dancers of Ultra Gypsy jump on stage to perform. They're sexy, playful, and hypnotizing. This night happeneds every fourth friday of the month.

Le Plebe

The other night I went to see Le Plebe, a local S.F. punk band. Although, the phrase 'local S.F. punk band' is so boring to me anymore. So I'll redefine them as the Latin Rancid (Rancid is a famous local band). Le Plebe has fast punk rock songs with a lot of horns and a dancy swagger. Best of all its en Espanol. The vibe of the shows are never too cool, scary, or lame- like some punk rock shows I have been to in recent years. Plus, the band members are all extremely nice, down-to-earth and grateful that you came out to see them. In fact, I realized that at least one of the band members attends SFSU. The band tours all over the globe and particularily countries in eastern Europe like Bulgaria. They love it there and are sensitive to issues that surround the people of the reigons. This is a show to just let loose and relax.

Best belly dancer.

This is Rachael brice. In my opinion she is the best tribal belly dancer in this country and she lives right here in the Bay area. Enjoy.
